Gravity has launched their new mobile MMORPG, Ragnarok Origin today on 7 July for South Korea. The game managed to achieve over 1.46 million pre-registrations, according to inven. A majority of registered players were apparently at least 19 years or older, but the number of registrations has shown the hype for the game.
As you might expect, it is based off the Ragnarok IP, and seems to be one of, if not the, game that will receive most of Gravity’s attention for 2020. The game is meant to appeal to a wide range of new players as well as existing fans of the original IP.
Pre-registration rewards have likewise been increased as thanks for the support. The predownload began on 6 July, with the number of registrations expected to hit over 1.5 million on official launch. As of this time of writing, servers should already be live for those who have access to the game.
There will accordingly be large-scale launching events to provide even more goodies and rewards to players. This launch confirms the speculated release date from our previous coverage of Ragnarok Origin for Korea. You can check out our gameplay from G-STAR 2019 to see what to expect:
Presently, there still isn’t any news regarding a global release, but should they want to make it the next Ragnarok game, it will hopefully be available sooner than later.
