The first Quake was first released back in 1996 and it has been one of the most played first-person-shooter game on the PC and the N64 back then. They have pretty much set the bars of competitive FPS experience with gore graphics back then. Now with their latest release of the Quake series, Quake Champions back in 2017, the game is now completely free to play on Steam!
During QuakeCon 2018 on Aug 9, 2018 – Aug 12, 2018, publisher Bethesda Softworks and developer id Software had made the announcement that the game will be free for the PC on Steam and Bethesda.net. Players from around the globe will be able to enjoy the highly competitive and fast paced game on the internet.
