Japan-based game developer Taito has just announced that there is currently a new Puzzle Bobble in development for all consoles. The news comes by way of a video put up by the company, which coincidentally also gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the final product.
Puzzle Bobble has been around the block since making its debut in 1994 as arcade game, although main character Bubblun has been around for far longer, celebrating his 35th birthday this year, when he made his debut in Bubble Bobble, which first came out in 1986. In a way, the new Puzzle Bobble game for consoles serves to commemorate the occasion.
Not much in terms of details were shared, although the director did emphasise that gameplay will be simple, so just about everyone can pick up and play with relative ease. Notes have been taken from Bubble Bobble 4 Friends however, so multiplayer will be a key focus here. Watch the video posted above for a better idea, and be sure to enable captions for the English language subtitles. There is yet to be an official website for the new game, so you are just going to have to follow Bubblun’s Twitter account for up to the minute updates.
