KAYAC and Aniplex have just announced the launch of Cross × Logos for the Android and iOS platforms. As the headline goes, this is a mobile title that is a cross between a puzzle and battle game that is the brainchild of Hiroyuki Goto of Kotoba no Puzzle: Mojipittan fame and Takehiro Ando, a former Square Enix producer.
Cross × Logos is set in a universe where the existence of a certain Philosophy Tower brings about dangers because of the knowledge it stores. Serving as a librarian stationed within the tower, players will party with an assortment of characters with unique traits in order to solve mysteries.
Combat is where the puzzle element comes into play, as you will be attacking enemies by forming words. By creating word combos, you will be able to boost your attack power and hit your enemy twice. Upon fulfilling certain conditions, you will be able to unleash your ultimate attack. In other words, think of this as Scrabble on steroids. Fun and games aside, you will definitely be able to boost your Japanese vocabulary in a fashion that is far more entertaining than the traditional methods.
With the game having hit 170,000 players in pre-registration numbers, everyone will be rewarded with a bunch of goodies that include gacha tickets. For more details, drop by the official site.
