The Punishing: Gray Raven x NieR: Automata collab is here, giving players in China and Japan the opportunity to hack and slash their way as 2B, 9S and A2. The event will last for nearly a month, ending on 4th February 2021.
On Bilibili, news about the collab surfaced last month, with images of A2’s in-game model being shown online. Near the end of the year, a PV for the collab appeared on YouTube. Stretching for almost five minutes, it detailed the new features added to the game during the event. You can watch the video here:
2B, 9S and A2 emerge as S-Class characters, each with their own exclusive weapons. Skins from Yoko Taro’s previous titles, NieR and Drakengard 3, also make their way to the game. This crossover event also brings a slew of new gameplay features. Players can fight a new boss, assemble a new furniture set and traverse new maps inspired from NieR: Automata.
In addition, a 14-day login bonus is being offered to players. 9S and his costume are amongst the various rewards obtainable from the login bonus.
Besides the in-game event, Punishing: Gray Raven is also collaborating with Pixiv for an illustration contest. A total of 2 million yen is up for grabs in this competition. Selected works will even be published in the game.
