While the account has since recovered, the Punishing Gray Raven Global Twitter account was hacked. As chagrined users noted, the goal was to promote things along the line of cryptocurrency and NFTs, despite the fact that the community don’t like it, and a majority of developers really don’t want them either. Apparently, tweeting “I’m not hacked” will convince people you’re totally legit.
It’s not the first time a game’s official account got hijacked for similar purposes, with War of the Visions suffering a similar fate. That isn’t even including breaches of security on other platforms, big or small, that you may have come across.
Fortunately, much like Punishing Gray Raven‘s Twitter account, the War of the Visions channel also recovered from getting hacked. The verified accounts and large followings do make especially prime targets to break into, to get as many eyes as possible on whatever shady links they try to promote.
For the layman, it pays to keep in mind all the standard cyber security advice of not clicking unfamiliar links, having two factor authentication, strong passwords and the like to ensure this doesn’t happen to yourself.
That out of the way, head back to enjoying the Grand Blue event in Punishing Gray Raven with our guide, and don’t shill crypto.
