Players of the global version of Punishing Gray Raven will finally have the option of using Chinese voice lines for their Constructs. This feature will be added to the game as part of the Eternal Engine update.
The Chinese dub for Punishing Gray Raven is a player-requested feature, according to the dev team. During the first dev blog, the developers have stated that they were surprised to see a large number of requests from the players to add Chinese localisation. In addition, there are also plans to implement a full Chinese language pack. According to the dev team:
“Of course we’ll keep looking into ways to bring the full Chinese language pack to the game, text and all. Our engineers will continue to investigate its feasibility, but it might be a long-term project, but we’ll keep you informed as and when progress is made on this front.”
For global releases of anime-styled gacha games that use Japanese voices, it is rare for the Chinese dub to be added. Kuro Game’s move of adding the option for Chinese dubs might be a sign of things to come for other China-made gacha games.
Recently, Liv’s Japanese voice actress, Ai Kayano, was officially replaced by Miku Itō. Only time will tell when this change arrives in Punishing Gray Raven global.
