Aniplex Inc., alongside developers Pokelabo and f4samurai, has officially announced the launch of the free-to-play RPG Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra. The game is set to debut on mobile platforms following March 27th and will be available for download on both iOS and Android. A Steam release is also planned, with its launch date to be announced later.
The game features a rich narrative that unites all original characters from the beloved anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica while introducing a fresh storyline and new characters conceived by Gekidan Inu Curry (Doroinu), the creative animation troupe renowned for their unique production design in the franchise. Adding to the game’s immersive experience, the theme song, performed by the musical group FictionJunction and featuring LINO LEIA, is composed and arranged by the acclaimed Yuki Kajiura, bringing a whimsical, fairy tale-like charm to the soundtrack.

For those looking forward to the Steam release, the game will support both English and Japanese interface and subtitles, though voice acting will remain exclusively in Japanese. The game’s world is intricately crafted in 3D, while 2D elements, including sprites and illustrations, bring various iconic scenarios from the anime and the mobile game Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story (2017) to life.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Magia Exedra is a turn-based RPG where players assemble a team of five Magical Girls to engage in strategic battles. Each character belongs to a distinct type, allowing for thoughtful team compositions to maximize effectiveness in combat. A key feature of the game is the “Break System,” which enables players to deplete an enemy’s break gauge using elemental attacks, opening up opportunities for additional effects and strategic advantages when battling Witches and their minions.

Longtime fans of the series will find plenty to be excited about, as they embark on a fresh adventure featuring beloved characters. Even newcomers to Madoka Magica will find themselves captivated by the compelling new stories.
