Player Unknown Battleground Mobile or PUBG Mobile for short, will be having a collaboration with the popular anime franchise Neon Genesis Evangelion. The event will begin next month in May.
The official PUBG Mobile Twitter account announced this alongside a short nine-second long teaser trailer.

As of writing this article, it has not been confirmed what content will be featured in the collaboration however leaks on Tiktok and youtube have shown that the event will allow players to unlock at least five new costumes. These are based on Evangelion characters Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, Asuka Langley Soryu, and Mari Makinami Illustrious as well the Evangelion Unit-01, the iconic not-robot that Shinji pilots.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a 1995 anime by Studio Gainax. The series is known for popularizing the idea of deconstruction media, taking a popular genre like mecha anime, and looking at the psychological effect of putting 14-year-old children into giant robots to fight aliens.
PUBG has previously had collaborations with other popular anime/manga franchises like Haruhi Suzumiya, Higurashi, and Black Lagoon.
