Professor Layton and the Curious Village EXHD for Smartphone now out

Game developer Level-5 has just released Professor Layton and the Curious Village EXHD for Smartphone for Android and iOS devices in Japan for JPY 1,200.

As previously reported, Professor Layton and the Curious Village EXHD for Smartphone is essentially a high-definition remaster of the same game on the Nintendo DS, featuring higher resolution graphics and new animations that were not included in the original release. Remasters of classics are common these days as a way to cash in on nostalgia. Of course, if reception proves to be good, one can usually expect a new entry in the franchise, and with the case of Professor Layton, the likelihoods are rather high.
