Princess Peach Showtime, a side scrolling adventure featuring the Mario princess, has just been announced for the Nintendo Switch.
Coming on March 22nd, 2024, Princess Peach Showtime sees the character teaming up with Stella, a magical ribbon to save a Theatre from an evil witch.
Peach will be able to use Stella’s ribbon to fight off the Sour Bunch, as well as interacting with the theatre-themed scenery to get things like coins.
Aside from that, the game will also allow Peach to access costume-themed abilities, such as turning into a Swordfighter to do powerful melee attacks or turning into a Detective to solve mysteries.
These costumes will all correlate to the different themed worlds Princess Peach will visit, though it’s not currently known if there’ll be any ability to use abilities from other worlds, similar to Balan Wonderworld.
While the title features primarily side-scrolling gameplay, the trailer also shows off various minigame moments, such as a timing-based Kung Fu fight as well as a cake baking minigame, all tied to the various world’s costumes.
This was one of many Mario-themed announcements at tonight’s Nintendo Direct, which also saw the return of Mario vs Donkey Kong, Super Mario RPG as well as Paper Mario.
