Acer has announced the winners of the Predator League 2020/21 PUBG tournaments, which spanned two separate Asia and Asia Pacific leagues.
Eagle 365 has been crowned the winner of the APAC Predator League 2020/21 in PUBG, after pulling ahead with the most points in the Grand Finals. While TEG sports claimed the last victory of the tournament in the final game, the team only finished 10th overall. Eagle 365 however took the first spot, with a whopping 125 points total, a whole 21 points ahead of runner-up team Cerberus.
In a press conference after the event, Eagle365 mentioned they had big plans after winning USD 37500 , with two of the team members, Chibirrit and Vandal9, saying they planning to use their cut of the prize money to get married.
Aside from that, they also said the team’s sights would be set to PCS, to get a global title next. The team was only formed 3 months ago, but they’ve already walked away with a championship that they won with a commanding points lead.
According to the team, once they’d already won a commanding points lead, they had to change their strategy. “They keep playing very consistently, very safe”, their interpreter described. “They need to protect their lead”.
The team joked, however, that maybe they would have been more aggressive if they had less of a lead.
Despite that, the team played incredibly well, securing three Chicken Dinners over the course of the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the Asia Predator League, Korean team DWG KIA has also walked away champions. Danawa e-Sports won the final game of their Grand Finals, however their 112 point total wasn’t enough to overcome DWG Kia, with the former group finishing third instead. Meanwhile DWG Kia held on to first with a 142 point total, 20 points ahead of league runner-up Ghibli Esports.
