Season 2 of Pop Team Epic has been announced through a short video after the end of the series’ rebroadcast, Pop Team Epic Repeat. Pop Team Epic first aired in 2018, but aired once more this year as Pop Team Epic Repeat, remixed with a different voice cast.
You can watch the announcement video here:
The announcement video featured voice actor and singer Shouta Aoi having a conversation with an alternate version of himself. Aoi made an appearance in the season finale as himself, singing songs and helping out Popuko and Pipimi to save the day.
Alongside the video, the anime’s Twitter account also posted the announcement of Pop Team Epic Season 2 together with an illustration.

The Pop Team Epic anime is unlike many of the popular seasonal anime, featuring a multitude of animation styles, including CGI, traditional 2D animation and even live-action performances. The series is noteworthy for airing two different versions of the same 15-minute segments for each episode, featuring different voice actors and other small changes.
Crunchyroll describes the series as:
Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic! Based off the bizarre four-panel webcomic by Bukubu Okawa comes a comedy that’ll throw you off with its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You think you’re ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!
