The internet has generated a new beloved miserable wreck of a person, this time in the form of Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus.
The Amazing Digital Circus is a new show made by animator Gooseworx and Glitch Productions, whose pilot has over 14 million views in just under a week.
It follows Pomni, a girl who wakes up in the Amazing Digital Circus, surrounded by a bizarre cast of characters ranging from a way-too-smug rabbit man to a ringleader who’s a pair of eyes inside of a set of dentures.
Naturally, the show is about how Pomni wants to escape the circus, with the pilot highlighting a lot of the surreal horror elements like nobody knowing how to escape, the seemingly random nature of things that happen, and the fate of one more member of the circus, Kofmo.
As is practically a rule of the internet Pomni is the standout character of the show, with Twitter being full of art celebrating everyone’s new favorite clown girl.

There’s even art finally confirming that the two components of a popular character are white face paint and crippling anxiety:

R: JAAAX!!! What did you do to her?!
J: Relaaax… Pomni just fell herself from the non-existent banana peel so it's her fault anyway pic.twitter.com/9B3uBYwjGe— Lil' Darkpiβ¨ (@Darkpi_evan) October 17, 2023
Despite not always bringing in financial success, platforms like YouTube have been a big part in getting a lot of more niche media their own cult followings.
Vivziepop’s Hazbin Hotel had also finally been greenlit, years after the pilot was posted to YouTube and went viral.
Other creators, like Worthikids, instead build a cult following around their style, crafting an entire mythos around the daily happenings of clowns.
