The Pokemon Company has announced the Nintendo Switch release date for Pokemon Unite, and it’s closer than you may think.
In an update today, they announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Unite will release next week, on the 21st of July.
Previously, we’d only known that the game would release on the handheld platform some time in July, though it’s good to finally have a concrete date to mark on our calendars.
The game will also be releasing on Android and iOS, although those versions of the game won’t launch until September. Ironically enough, prior to its release all the closed betas for the game were held primarily on mobile first.
Pokemon Unite is the Pokemon twist on the MOBA formula, featuring features like evolving your Pokemon mid-battle, as well as capture points instead of towers. Ults in this game are referred to as Unite Attacks, which you’ll be able to use to press your advantage.
The game is free-to-play, but from what we’ve seen it will include the MOBA standard fare of having to buy new Pokemon to play as. While the full roster hasn’t been officially announced, you can check out our full list of all the Pokemon in the game so far to see if your favorite Pokemon made the cut.
