Pokemon Unite is conducting a limited time network test in Japan for the Nintendo Switch. The Pokemon Unite test will run from 24 June 2021, 12:00 JST to 26 June 2021, 23:59 in Japan. People will be able to play it even if they are not subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online, which is typically required for various online functionalities for most other games. Some features are noted to be different from the full version, and data cannot be carried over to the full release.
There’s no mention for a similar test for English speakers at time of writing, but you can opt to check out the various Pokemon being showcased through the official Twitter here. Pokemon Unite is a MOBA-styled game developed by Tencent Games’ subsidiary, TiMi Studios, slated for launch in July for the Nintendo Switch, and mobile to follow in September. You can check out our impressions of the game from an earlier beta test here, along with the list of Pokemon that were available in that test build here.
According to the official website, if you log in using your Nintendo Account or Pokémon Trainer Club account, you’ll be able to use your game data on any device. With this feature, you’ll be able to enjoy playing at home on your TV screen using the Nintendo Switch version, as well as easily play on the go using the mobile version.
