The Pokemon anime will be airing a new special called Pokemon: The Arceus Chronicles which will be airing this September 23rd on Netflix in most regions excluding Asia.
There will also be a premier screening of the anime special at the 2022 Pokemon World Championships in London on August 19th at 18:00 BST.
Here is the official trailer and synopsis for the special:
“A visit to the Sinnoh region turns into a high-stakes adventure when Ash, Pikachu, and friends join forces with powerful Pokémon to confront a looming threat! When Ash, Goh, and Dawn receive a mysterious message from the Mythical Pokémon Arceus, they meet up with Brock and head to Mount Coronet to investigate. There, they find a rampaging Heatran and the commanders of Team Galactic, who are determined to find their missing leader by opening a gate between dimensions. With a trio of Legendary Pokémon and Sinnoh Champion Cynthia on their side, our heroes have lots of help, but they’ll need all they can get to save Sinnoh from being destroyed!”
The special was likely made to help advertise Pokemon Legends: Arceus and will include a lot of fanservice for the Gen 4 era of Pokemon games.
Ash’s companions during that generation Dawn and Brock will be reappearing on the special alongside the villainous team Galactic and numerous legendary pokemon from the Sinnoh region including Arceus (hopefully his English voice acting isn’t bad as it was in Arceus and The Jewel of Life).
Pokemon: The Arceus Chronicles will launch on Netflix on September 23rd.
