The highly anticipated Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG) Showdown 2025 is set to take place from February 21 to 23, 2025, at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This three-day celebration offers a variety of activities for Pokémon card game enthusiasts of all skill levels, with free entry for all attendees.

The event features two headline tournaments. The Pokémon TCG Shop Team Battle on Saturday, February 22nd will see teams of 3-5 players representing their local Pokémon TCG GYM Shops competing in Standard Format. Pre-registration is required by February 16th, with teams advancing through a Swiss Draw qualifier to a Top 16 single elimination bracket. Furthermore, prizes include exclusive playmats, booster packs, and the champion team’s shop will receive a trophy and Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic set.
The Pokémon TCG U16 Tournament on Sunday, February 23rd is specially designed for players 16 years and younger. Additionally, the tournament will follow Standard Format regulations using a Swiss Draw system for qualifiers, with the top 8 advancing to single elimination finals. Champions will receive special playmats, an Elite Trainer Box, and a Pokémon plushie.
In addition, the event will feature appearances by established Japanese champions Nachi Nedu (2023 Japan Championships winner) and Ryota Ishiyama (multiple-time Pokémon TCG 4 Heavenly Kings member and World Championships finalist). Moreover, visitors can participate in the Japan Champions Challenge to battle these elite players and receive deck-building advice, with Japanese-English translators available during these sessions.

Additional attractions include a Pikachu Meet and Greet for photo opportunities on Sunday, a Pokémon Pop-up Store for merchandise and deck purchases, a Special Lucky Draw featuring prizes from OGAWA (Pokémon Chairs), Shachihata (marker sets), and exclusive Showdown 2025 playmats, as well as Pokémon Ga-Olé activities.
