Pokémon Sleep is now available for download in selected countries as part of the sleep-tracking app’s initial soft launch.
The game can now be available to be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for the following countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- Latin America
- New Zealand
The application’s availability for other countries have yet to be announced but The Pokémon Company promised that news will be coming soon.
Developed by Select Button, Pokémon Sleep is a gamified sleep-tracking application featuring Pokémon, first announced May of 2019.
The game aims to help its users to adopt better sleeping habits by recording their sleep time and provides useful statistics to inform them how they perform.
The gamified aspect comes in form of Pokémon in which players can collect depending on how they sleep
The type of Pokémon collected will be depending on the sleeping types of the users such as dozing, snoozing, and slumbering.
For example, Pikachu can have a sleep type of Droopy-Eared, Curled-Up, and Electrifying Sleep.
The Pokémon Company explained that in order for the game to work, users will have to position their mobile device beside them or by their pillow for the application to monitor their sleep.
The application will track the users snores, snoozing, tossing and turning, and other restlessness.
Users can also purchase a companion accessory called Pokémon Go Plus+, which collects data using motion and sound while the user sleeps.
The Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory will also feature voicelines of Pikachu, including the chubby rodent Pokémon singing a lullaby to soothe the users.
