Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Competitive Play Trailer Shows New Pokemon Cyclizar and New Items

The Pokemon Company has released a new “Competitive Play Trailer” for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet which shows off the new Pokemon Cyclizar as well as new modes and items meant for competitive play. 

Cyclizar

The most notable aspect of the trailer is Cyclizar, the mount pokemon. We don’t know much about this Pokemon but based on its appearance it likely has some connection to the two box legendaries, Koraidon and Miraidon. Here is its official description:

“This Pokémon has lived in many households in the Paldea region since ancient times. It has a mild disposition, and people riding Cyclizar are a very common sight. It appears Cyclizar doesn’t mind being ridden because the warmth of a rider helps stave off the cold.

Cyclizar can sprint at over 70 mph while carrying a human. Its extremely hard head and thick, lithe tail are not only useful for maintaining balance and absorbing shocks while sprinting—they also provide effective ways to attack during battles.”

The Battle Stadium 

The latest Trailer Showcases Paldean Region’s Battle Stadium. Here, players will be able to use the internet to enjoy battling Trainers from all over the world. Ranked Battles will be returning from Sword and Shield alongside modes like Casual Battles and Online Competitions as well.

New Items

Scarlet and Violet will introduce new items that trigger a variety of effects and depending on how players use them it could mean the difference between victory and defeat. You can use them in conjunction with Pokémon moves and Terastallizing to achieve victory.

• Mirror Herb
  This herb will allow the holder to mirror an opponent’s stat increases and boost its own stats–but only once.
• Covert Cloak
  This hooded cloak conceals the holder, protecting it from the additional effects of moves.
• Loaded Dice
  If a Pokémon holding this item uses a multistrike move, that move will be more likely to hit more times.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be available on the 18th of November 2022 for Nintendo Switch.
