Pokemon Rumble Rush Guide – How to climb CP efficiently

Pokemon Rumble Rush has been launched for a few days now. If you tried out the game, you should notice that the gameplay cycle is just grinding through stages to capture Pokemon, and challenge the Super Boss stages once you reach their battle requirements. Then, more Pokemon with higher CP will be unlocked, you can capture them and try to challenge the next Super Boss stage again. So in this Pokemon Rumble Rush guide, we will be giving out some tips to help you efficiently climb up your Pokemon CP.

• Focus on a type of Pokemon at a time

It all starts with a good Pokemon in your roster. Instead of searching areas and capturing Pokemon aimlessly, you should focus on capturing a certain type of Pokemon, especially the type that has an advantage against your next Super Boss. From our experience, we would suggest you grind for Fire, Water or Psychic types of Pokemon as these are the most common yet useful ones. Bug and Electric types are not recommended – Bug types Pokemon are weak overall, while Electric types are pretty rare to capture.

• Grind for Pokemon with a good move

After you decide which type of Pokemon to grind for, you should start looking for Pokemon with good moves. Our definition of “good move” here would be 3 to 5-Star move that matches the Pokemon type. For instance, a Charmander (Fire type) with 3-5 Star Fire moves such as Fire Blast, Flamethrower and Fire Fang would be more useful than a Charmander with Rock moves or Normal moves.

Also, we found out that some Pokemon including Charmander, Krabby and Bulbasaur are easier to grind for good moves compared to others. This is because they have more moves that match their types, for example, Charmander has quite a lot of Fire moves. The possibility to get a good move for these Pokemon would be higher, thus making things easier for you.

• Look for Pokemon with 2 Power Gear slots

Getting high CP Pokemon with good move requires some luck, but here is a way to increase your Pokemon CP instantly – by equipping Power Gear on it. Equipping the specific type of gears to your Pokemon will increase its CP (more CP when you levels up the gear). For example, a Charmander with fire type move can get a boost of 30 CP when you equip a level 3 fire power gear on it.

Some Pokemon do have 2 Power Gear slots, and this would give a really good advantage as it can receive a 60 CP boost just by equipping 2 Power Gears on it. So, make sure you keep those Pokemon with 2 gear slots and use them wisely!

• Grind for a certain type of ore and focus on upgrading a specific gear

Now you know what is the importance of equipping gear on your Pokemon, you should start upgrading your gears so it can provide a greater CP boost. Upgrading gears require upgrade kits, which you can obtain from refining Ores or recycling extra gears to the club.

Ores can be obtained occasionally when you complete stages and note that the star rating of the stage doesn’t affect its rarity (correct me if I am wrong). Each Ore has one guaranteed gear drop, while the higher rarity ones give out more gears.

To grind a specific type of gears, you can focus on completing specific stages. Before you enter the battle, there is a small Ore icon that shows whether an Ore is obtainable from the stage and a list of the possible gears that you can get. Find the stage with the gear you need and lock it down so you can keep repeating it. You can move on to upgrade the other type of gear once you maximize a gear’s level!
