Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX has been announced for the Nintendo Switch at the Pokemon Direct for 9 January 2020. This game seems to be a remake of the original Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team. The first pair of games released back in 2006, appearing to be combined into a single game.
From the preview trailer, features from the later Pokemon games have made their way into the DX version, as we can see Mega Evolving, first introduced in the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y generation (Generation VI). Pre-purchase and the demo for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX will be available later in the day on the Nintendo E-shop.
You will be able to do a quiz to determine which Pokemon you will start as. You can choose to redo it, as well. Explore dungeons in a turn-based system, across several floors. In teams of possibly 3 to 4, and only controlling your main character, your human-turned-Pokemon stand-in will go through an adventure with their partner Pokemon and many others. The last actual game in the series was Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS, released 17 September 2015 for Japan.
PMD Rescue Team DX will be released 6 March 2020.
