One of the fun things is this game is that you can trigger events. There are 46 for it, sometimes you can get great rewards from it but if you are unlucky, you may even lose your Magikarp (a little gambling element here). These events mostly trigger randomly after a training or a league play, while some of the events require certain pre-requisites to activate.

- Unlock Condition: Randomly in Home Screen (after completing Fast League)
- Positive Result: Gain JP
- Negative Result: Lose your current Magikarp
- Nugget
- Unlock Condition: After training (after completing Quick League)

- Is It Feebas?
- Unlock Condition: Feebas randomly appears in Home Screen
- Result: Gain JP
- Food Fever
- Unlock Condition: Manaphy randomly appears in Home Screen
- Result: Makes large amounts of food appear
- Be Gone!
- Unlock Condition: Click the TV and cancel 7 times, it will break. Then, fix it by clicking and cancelling 7 more times. Event activates after training (can only be activated once)
- Result: Magikarp’s maximum level increases by 1
- Hop, Skip & Whump!
- Unlock Condition: Keep jumping in the aquarium and eventually a Pidgeotto will swoop in (can only be activated once)
- Result: Lose your current Magikarp
- You’re No Magikarp!
- Unlock Condition: Re-fishing four different consecutive times (which means you need to prepare 210 diamonds)
- Result: Gain a Skill Restore
- You Can Do It!
- Unlock Condition: After losing League Match 3 times in a row
- Result: Gain 3 LP Restores
- Adios, Gyarados!
- Unlock Condition: Tap your Magikarp repeatedly to break the Everstone. On the next level up, it will evolve into Gyarados.
- Result: Lose your current Magikarp
- Let’s Push It!
- Unlock Condition: Go into the Decoration list and tap the Bronze Eevee (can only be activated once)
- Result: Get a Skill Restore
- Transforming Magikarp
- Unlock Condition: Sometimes, you will see a rod facing the other way when fishing your Magikarp. If you select this rod, you will hook a Ditto posing as a Magikarp (can only be activated once)
- Result: Unlocks the Ditto Cushion in the shop
