The Pokemon Company has just announced the release date for Pokemon Legends Arceus, as well as the Sinnoh remakes Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
In a surprise pair of tweets, the company announced the release date for Pokemon Legends Arceus would be January 28th, 2022. Meanwhile, the Sinnoh remakes would release later this year on November 19th, 2021.
We were also treated to the box art for the three games, although don’t expect any new information from them outside of the fact that they are indeed very pretty.
Pokemon Legends Arceus is a bold new spinoff in the Pokemon franchise, featuring what looks to be iterated gameplay of Sword and Shield’s Wild Area. Players were shown to be able to sneak up on wild Pokemon, and engage in their random encounters seemiingly on-the-spot without stage transitions.
Meanwhile, Pokemon Shining Diamond and Brilliant Pearl are the remakes of the fourth generation Pokemon titles on the Nintendo DS. Unlike many of the previous remakes these seem to be including less of the current generations features, instead going for a more general honoring of the base games style and mechanics with a return to chibi overworld sprites.
Both the games were shown off earlier this year, but there has been no news on them since.
