The Pokemon Company has announced a three-episode online Pokemon Legends anime series, called ‘Pokemon’s Hisuian Snow’. This anime is an original story based on Pokemon Legends: Arceus set in the Hisui region.
The first episode is slated for release on the official Pokémon Asia YouTube channel on May 18th, 2022 at 21:00 MYT.
Set in an age long ago when a divide between people and Pokémon existed, the story begins with a man named Akio reminiscing about the first time his father brought him to the Hisui region. When Akio meets a Hisuian Zorua in the forest, he begins to question if people and Pokémon really cannot coexist.
Voice acting credits include Koki Uchiyama (Shigaraki in MHA) and Rie Kugimiya (Kagura Sohma in Fruits Basket)as an adult and child Akio respectively and Rikiya Koyama (William Zeppeli in JoJo) as Akio’s father.
Pokemon’s Hisuian Snow is animated by Wit Studio, known for their work in Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, and Spy x Family.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released on January 28th, 2022 for the Nintendo Switch platform. In this game, the Pokemon series takes on a bold new direction fusing action with RPG elements. The game is set in a region known as Hisui, a place that would eventually become the Sinnoh region of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl.
