The Pokemon Company has decided to bless mankind with a 3-foot tall Piplup plush appropriately listed as ‘the exceedingly huge Piplup plush’. Each Piplup will be made to order and can only be purchased from the Pokemon Center Online Store.
The Pokemon Piplup Plush is only available to ship within Japan and will cost ¥38,500 ($350/RM1476)
Piplup is the water starter pokemon for the generation four games: Pokemon Daimond, Pearl and Platinum, alongside the grass starter Turtwig and fire starter Chimchar. The games will be remade later this year as Pokemon Brilliant Daimond and Shining Pearl.
Piplup has also become the mascot for the Project Pochama Campaign (Piplup’s name in Japanese) to market the Gen Four remakes. You can follow them on Twitter or Instagram. This plush is another part of that marketing campaign.
This is also part of an even bigger marketing campaign of Pokemon’s 25th Anniversary which is producing numerous games, merchendise, events and colloborations which are being tracked on Pokemon’s official website.
Pokemon Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl will be available for Nintnedo Switch on November 2021. A prequel to the game Pokemon Legends: Arceus which also takes place in the Sinnoh region, will be released on January 28th 2022.
Speaking of Pokemon merch, there’s Pokemon mooncake being released on Taiwan soon.
