Kaelaris is one of esports more prolific figures. He’s here now for PUBG, but you’ve likely seen him for Heroes of the Storm, or earlier still, Starcraft 2. We sat down with him for a few minutes for some questions.
Being in the business for over 9 years brings a lot of experience, and, as one could assume, the work never ends. Even so, he gives off an easy, charming aura, full of passion for the games and esports scene he’s involved in. As the audience, we’d likely not think much of the preparation that goes into esports events, but as Kaelaris mentions, even something minor like phrasing can be important.
For someone who’s been in esports as long as he has, it’s nice that some things can still surprise Kaelaris. Take for instance, the stage layout for the PMCO. The way he talks about the teams interacting with each other in a more “relaxed” environment just goes to show a high-tension event like a global finals doesn’t mean the players can’t take it easy.
We the audience can sit back and watch the show, and we should appreciate the work Kaelaris and his peers put in to making it enjoyable for us. We look forward to seeing more of him at other events!
