With Final Fantasy XVI launching today, PlayStation has launched a massive celebration of the title, via a pop up at Sunway Pyramid shopping centre.
At the midnight launch for the game, fans could come collect their preorders, as well as take part in a variety of activities- such as a stamp-collecting exercise to stand a chance to win a PS5 as well as other limited edition Final Fantasy XVI goods.
Considering the rest of the mall was winding down for the night, it’s impressive just how many people had turned up- from fans eagerly waiting to pick up their copy to other fans, checking out the game’s prologue.
There were also plenty of Final Fantasy XVI goodies on display, such as limited edition busts, as well as the highly coveted collector’s edition, complete with the gorgeous statue of Ifrit and Phoenix exchanging platonic blows.
Another highlight would be the photo booth, where you can strike a pose with Clive’s sword, pretending like you have the agility to do air combos on unsuspecting goblins.
Finally, it wouldn’t be a PlayStation event without an art installation- this time featuring the towering presence of Ifrit, the Eikon of Clive Rosfield, featuring a layered effect when viewed from a certain angle.
While it’s easily the most impressive, it’s far from the only photo op at the event, as the pop up features the eight Dominants with their respective Eikons, where you can take totally dignified photos with your favorite characters.
The pop up itself will run from 22nd June to 2nd July, and will culminate in the previously announced meet-and-greet with the game’s producer, Naoki Yoshida.
There’s also a raffle to win a PS5, where all you’ll need to do is check out the Pop Up event and try out all the different booths, and win yourself a free poster.
Fans interested in checking out the Final Fantasy XVI pop up event can go to LG2 at the Orange Atrium at Sunway Pyramid.
