EA has announced that Plants vs Zombies 3 Welcome to Zomburbia will be getting a worldwide release sometime this year, with the game already soft-launched for mobile in select regions.
Announced on the official EA website, Plants vs Zombies 3 Welcome to Zomburbia has soft launched in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Australia, Philippines, and the Republic of Ireland, with more countries coming at a later date.
Much like its previous iterations, Plants vs Zombies 3 is a tower defence game where players have to fend off against hordes of zombies with a roster of colourful plants, each with its own unique abilities.
EA mentions that this upcoming title will be a “story-driven, episodic experience that expands on the world of Plants vs. Zombies, calling back to the classic combat of the first game!”
Plants vs Zombies was initially announced back in 2019, with the game only being launched in a pre-alpha state for Android devices, before being soft-launched in 2020, and again in 2021.
The original Plants vs Zombies game was released back in 2009 for PC and Mac, before eventually making its way to mobile platforms.
The game’s developer, PopCap Games was later acquired by EA in 2011, during the time it also led to the development of the title’s sequel in 2013.
