We had the opportunity to talk with the triumphant champions of APAC Predator League 2025 DOTA 2, Myth Avenue Gaming (MAG) from Malaysia, fresh off their electrifying victory. The team, still buzzing with excitement despite their exhaustion, shared their incredible journey and thoughts on their championship run.
Path to Victory anf Strategic Mastery
“We formed this team right after the Malaysia qualifier finals, so it’s been about one or two months,” shared one of the team members. The relatively young squad demonstrated remarkable synergy throughout the tournament. Chucky, reflecting on his experience, added, “I participated in last year’s Predator League, so for me, it feels like it’s been a bit longer.”
The victory clearly meant a great deal to the team. “It means a lot to us. We’ve improved as a team, gained valuable experience in LAN games, and had a great time overall,” the team expressed collectively.
MAG’s preparation proved crucial to their success, particularly in the finals. “Yes, we definitely did prepare strategies specifically for the finals, especially against teams like Helios and 123 Gaming, who are both very experienced,” the team revealed. “We watched replays to analyze their hero bans and picks, and tailored our strategy accordingly.”
Their confidence was evident in their approach, with one member boldly stating, “I proved what I said, they didn’t win their game,” referring to their earlier semi-final comments about other teams’ chances.
The Championship Series and Looking Forward
The finals proved to be an intense battle, with the team maintaining remarkable composure throughout. Speaking about the series, they explained, “No, we were never completely confident because we know Ivory is a very experienced team. In Game 1, our strategy worked well. We made some mistakes in Game 2, but we adjusted and came back strong in Game 3.”
When asked about their future plans, the team maintained a grounded perspective. “We don’t know. We don’t have any upcoming tournaments this month, but we’ll start planning for future events,” they shared. Regarding their prize money, they added, “Bob can answer this, since he got the MVP. I think we’ll split it. We’re also planning to save some and invest the rest.”
The Tournament Experience and Final Thoughts
MAG couldn’t contain their appreciation for the event’s organization. “I think the event was really well-organized. The hospitality was excellent, and the hotel accommodations were great,” they praised. Adding to this, they emphasized the impact of community support: “The audience was also amazing—they supported us throughout the event, and we could feel the energy.”
Despite their exhaustion, the team’s joy was palpable. “We’re really happy, but it’s been a long day, so we’re pretty tired. However, we’re really excited and proud to have won,” they shared. When asked about their celebration plans, they kept it simple: “We haven’t made any specific plans yet. I think we’ll head back to the hotel to take a shower and relax first, then we’ll decide what to do after that.”
Their victory marks another milestone in Malaysian DOTA 2 history, with MAG proving themselves worthy champions of the APAC Predator League 2025.
