LiquidX, the development studio and publisher known for reviving the Pixelmon franchise, has announced its rebranding to MON Co. This transformation marks a strategic shift towards expanding publishing capabilities, fostering Web3 partnerships, and growing its IP franchises. The rebranding unifies LiquidX’s existing ecosystem of ventures under a single banner.
The newly formed MON Co. encompasses several key components:
- Pixelmon: The company’s core IP franchise
- MON Protocol: A Web3-focused arm with its own product suite
- MON Ventures: A newly announced project
- Eternal League IP franchise: Another freshly revealed initiative
The company made a notable appearance at gamescom 2024, showcasing three games: Warden’s Ascent, Warriors of Nova Thera, and Eternal League. These titles are now open for pre-registration for closed beta testing. MON Co.’s roadmap includes a series of engagement initiatives, with a particular focus on Asian markets. The company aims to bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3 gaming audiences by fostering a mainstream gaming community.
Giulio Xiloyannis, Co-founder of MON Co., explained the timing of the rebranding, stating it addresses the fragmentation resulting from rapid expansion. The change coincides with Warden’s Ascent’s first closed beta test and its presence at major industry events.
The new Pixelmon studio, MON Co. structure combines studio and development operations with enhanced publishing capabilities. Chris Sirise, another Co-founder, emphasized that the rebranding under the MON brand reinforces their commitment to gaming and IP products, while maintaining focus on their existing community and partnerships.
