Pikmin 1 and 2 Are Coming To Nintendo Switch, Pikmin 4 Demo Also Revealed

HD versions of the Gamecube Classics Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The games will be available later today as part of a shadow drop.

It was further announced that a demo of Pikmin 4 will also be dropping on the eShop to give players a taste of the new game on the 28th of June.

Pikmin 1 is a classic strategy game that sees Captain Olimar stranded on an unknown planet. He befriends a race of plant-like creatures called Pikmin who he commands to attack enemies and collect the pieces of his missing ship. He must do so under 30 days before his life support system cuts out.

Pikmin 2 sees Olimar return to the Pikmin planet in order to find rare treasures and save his company from bankruptcy. This time he works alongside his partner this new rookie Louie who has a strange love for eating bugs.

More information was also given about Pikmin including a new species called Glow Pikmin and the ability to travel and explore at night. This is something you couldn’t do in the previous titles as the creatures of the planet are nocturnal and would be more hostile at night.

Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 HD Remaster will be available later today on Nintendo Switch.

Pikmin 4 will be available for Switch on the 1st of July.
