An official release date for Phantom Blade: Executioners, previously known as Phantom Blade 3, has been announced after several delays.
Phantom Blade: Executioners is open for pre-registration now, and will release on November 2nd, 2023.
Set in the Phantom World, the game features a kung-fu adventure storyline where players dive into a conspiracy that threatens to topple the world, cut down kung-fu masters who have succumbed to insanity, and track down the mastermind behind multiple incidents.
The artstyle of the game is based on Chinese traditional paintings, augmented with modern sharpness and elements of fantasy.
Gameplay consists of players facing multiple opponents, where they have to strategies and find ways to dodge, parry, and leap out of harm’s way to create openings to deliver lethal blows.
There is also a Combo Chain system, which cuts down the need for excessive button-mashing or memorizing move lists by letting players build up an arsenal of kung-fu moves and choreograph them into sequences that fit their own play style.
Aside from the story mode, live co-op events, offline co-op, and psuedo-PvP where you encounter AI-controlled copies of other people’s characters are also available.
Phantom Blade: Executioners will be available on the Epic Games Store, iOS, Android, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
