Perfect World Games has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming mobile spin-off Persona 5: The Phantom X, alongside an announcement for the game’s second closed beta test.
The second closed beta, called the Awakening Test for Persona 5: The Phantom X is scheduled to start on August 8th, 2023 for Android, iOS, and PC.
Themed around “desire”, the game will follow Wonder, who has awakened the power of “Persona Masks” as players explore their everyday life between school and the Metaverse, much like Joker, the protagonist of Persona 5.
Additionally, a weird owl-like entity named Luffy and Motoha Arai, a second-year Kokatsu Academy student will accompany Wonder throughout the story.
Together, the three characters will use their Personas to fight Shadows within the Metaverse, and the original Phantom Thieves will also appear in the game.
The new trailer showcased various elements of the game, including 3 new characters, several story moments, and numerous gameplay segments such as iconic characters like Joker and Ann showing off their special abilities.
Persona 5: The Phantom X is a Persona spin-off title set to release in China and Southeast Asia, on Android, iOS, and PC, with no news on a global release yet.
