Dive back into the Metaverse as Perfect World Games have announced that the Persona 5 mobile spin-off game Persona 5: The Phantom X is set to launch in China this coming April.
Announced alongside a new trailer, Persona 5: The Phantom X will be gracing Android, iOS, and PC in China on April 12, 2024.
For the uninitiated, Persona 5: The Phantom X is a spin-off title being developed by Black Wings Game Studio and would follow a new ragtag crew instead of the Phantom Thieves.
Themed around “desire”, fans will be introduced to a new protagonist by the name of “Wonder” as he awakens the power of “Persona Masks” and lives a double life between school and the Metaverse much like the original game.
The gameplay is largely similar to Persona 5, but with a more simplified UI and control scheme that caters to mobile devices, and more crucially, this title will be a gacha game.
This means characters would be obtainable by pulling them from banners, instead of recruiting them through progression.
As mentioned, the game will launch in China, but there is still no news if it will get a worldwide release yet.
However, the game was announced to be launching in South Korea and there are mentions of releases in Southeast Asia.
