The sequel to the vanilla Persona 5 is finally getting an English release, according to listings by several websites. The Persona 5 Scramble English is slated for February 23rd, 2020.
The listings were reportedly seen on Indonesian retailers PS Enterprise, as well as Singaporean retailers Toy Or Game and Qisahn.
All the listings had the same release date for PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions of the game, being the aforementioned February release. It comes almost exactly a year after the Japanese release of Persona 5 Scramble.
According to the Toy or Game listing, the game will support English Subtitles with Japanese audio, a feature that wasn’t introduced in the Persona series until Persona 5.
The PS Enterprise listing also confirms the game would be getting a SEA release, as theirs lists the game as being R3.
Persona 5 Scramble is actually a sequel, taking place after the events of Persona 5. In the game, the Phantom Thieves go on a road trip across Japan, with a new set of bosses to defeat. Rather than use the same turn-based RPG elements of Persona 5, the game has a more action-RPG approach, with influences from the Dynasty Warriors series.
I’m putting the emphasis on the word “Original” because as of the game’s marketing material, it does not feature any of the new characters introduced in the game’s re-release Persona 5: The Royal.
While the game has been out in Japan since February, English speaking fans have been upset because Sega and Atlus have been mum on a Persona 5 Scramble English release.
Sega or Atlus have not responded to verify or deny these listings.
