Fans of Ashley Graham from Resident Evil 4 have found a rather strange new hobby: they’ve spent the past weekend drawing her as a mouse.
It all started with Twitter user Agrimmora, who was blessed with divine inspiration: they decided that the President’s daughter would be much better if she had more rodent-like features.
“What if you booted up resident evil 4 remake and Ashley was just a tiny mouse, what would you do”, their initial tweet writes.
With the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake, this has since spawned a torrent of fanart- all of Ashley in her new form.
A lot of of them have stuck to Agrimmora’s classic cartoon design- triangle shaped head looking in profile with a cartoony aesthetic, such as this one here:

However, that doesn’t mean the concept of Resident Evil 4’s iconic escort character hasn’t also been handled by artists more experienced with anthropomorphized animals, either:

Of course, some artists decided Mouse Ashley wasn’t quite mouse enough, leading to some of the most inspired renditions of the character yet:

Even the official Resident Evil Twitter account acknowledged the trend over the weekend, posting a cheeky mouse and some cheese on April Fools day

Agrimmora has said that the mouse design was originally inspired by the character’s round ears- something missing from the remake since she’s sporting a new hairstyle.
“I saw a joke drawing that depicted Ashley with big ears and this came to my mind, I never got past the boulder chase scene as a kid”, they said.
This is a good example of organic fun in a gaming community- there’s literally no basis for Ashley being a rodent in the game, it’s just a fun idea one person had that everyone else has rolled with.
It also would have been a godsend in the actual game itself, since keeping her in your pocket would be a pretty good way to stop her being carried off by zombies.
