GO1’s and Kazunoko’s match in the Winner’s Bracket could have been the finals of the Penang Esports Festival 2019 DBFZ tournament, with an intense back and forth. However, GO1 knocked Kazunoko down to the Loser’s Finals, forcing Kazunoko to go through Matoi. Not that it mattered, when Kazunoko came back for a rematch.
A repeat of their earlier match, down to the characters and score, Kazunoko and GO1 duked it out. In the end, even the score was the same, with GO1 closing the intense set 3 to 2. The PEF2019 tournament is part of the DragonBall FightersZ World Tour or Tenkaichi, and GO1 has secured himself more points to qualify for the World Tour Finals.
Congratulations to GO1! We’ll be looking forward to seeing more of him in Tenkaichi events to secure his spot for the World Tour Finals! Kazunoko and Matoi are not likely to take this loss lightly as they also vie for qualifying spots. Matoi himself got knocked to the loser’s bracket facing up GO1, and surely he would like a revenge match. Kazunoko was the previous World Tour champion too, and his crown will be challenged by new people.
There’ll be more Tenkaichi events coming your way yet, but this closes out the Penang Esports Festival chapter. Look forward to even more heart-pounding DBFZ action as the Tenkaichi World Tour continues!
