The chicken dinner must be delicious for Rage Unleashed Classicos. The team clinched first prize in the Penang Esports Festival 2019 over two days of competition. We sat down with them to get a few insights into the team after the win.
RageBell (full name: Aidil Ashraf bin Kamal Ariffin), RageToi (Muhamad Razlan bin Mohd Jer), RageKing (Raja Danial Afzan bin Abd Aziz) and RageBonai (Muhammad Imran Fairus bin Mohamad Fairus) make up Rage Unleashed Classicos. King is the current leader of the team since Season 5, while Bell took charge from Season 1 to 5. Bonai is the youngest of the group, but certainly no less talented.
The team had plenty to say about their feelings on winning the tournament. Toi talks about understandably being really happy and touched, as this is their highest achievement yet. Bell says the event was really competitive, as they were going up against friends they meet often. He’s in shock, he adds, while also thanking God for this win, on top of the effort they put in. King mentions they weren’t putting so much focus on the winning itself, merely pushing themselves to keep going further. They’ve lost plenty before, according to Bonai, but they never gave up. He thanks the fans for their support, and that there’ll be plenty yet for them to do.
Rage Unleashed Classicos is an older name, Bell explains, from the time of the game Pointblank. An old friend left the team when Bell was 17 and it had remained dormant until Bell – whose moniker comes from his wife’s name, Bella – reestablished the team during PUBG Mobile Season 2.
Toi’s the attacker, Bell’s the strategist and scouter who typically goes solo, King’s the flanker and sniper and Bonai takes support and backup fire. Their main strategy is to stick to “one head, everyone’s skills”, with changes made according to the situation.
The team’s future plans include mini tournaments and a well-earned vacation. Fortunately for them, their families support their esports endeavours, and they’ll be gearing up to try out for the PMCO. Their advice to those interested in going pro is to “never give up”. Even as you keep losing, you have to keep going.
We hope to see them again in future PUBG Mobile tournaments. Congratulations once again, to Rage Unleashed Classicos!
