Konami Digital Entertainment is pleased to announce a large-scale online tournament in the KC Grand Tournament, to be held in DUEL LINKS / Yu-Gi-Oh! DUEL LINKS, due to the cancellation of the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2020. The KC Grand Tournament is a new large scale, online competition to replace the World Championship that was scheduled to be held on August 2020.
The event will have two parts: the qualifying matches, and the main matches. Around 100 top duelists from across the globe will be competing in the qualifying preliminaries to start on 1 June. Going through the gauntlet successfully will see them proceed to the main championship matches scheduled for August. Stay tuned for live streams of the final stage tournament, as well as special prizes for those who rank highly. Keep an eye out for the in-game notices for further information. The first stage of the KC Grand Tournament will be from 1 to 15 June 2020, with qualifying finals from 12 to 15 June. Players will need to be Stage (DM) 6 and above to participate. First, reach the DLvMAX stage through PvP duels. The qualifying finals will see players compete for the most DP from those who make it through the first stage. Around 100 top duelists globally will become eligible in the “Main Match”.
The Main Matches is scheduled for August 2020, with details to be announced later. Eligible finalists include:
- Those qualified from the preliminaries
- 1st place holders of each KC Cup
- September 2019
- November 2019
- February 2020
- April 2020
- Champion of Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2019
- Participation rights for this event will not affect already acquired WCS2021 Main Match participation rights
Matches will be held online. The first stage will see duels among all participants to determine the top 16, and the finals will see these 16 duelists compete for the title of champion.
