In an unexpected new collab, Azur Lane will feature the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) in their next event, titled The Cutest Companions.
This event will go live on 12th March 2021 after the upcoming scheduled maintenance. It will add new content, the highlight of which being two new skins for Ning Hai and Ping Hai.
To those who are unaware, WWF is an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to wildlife preservation. Founded in 1961, the organisation is easily recognisable by its iconic giant panda logo.
As for Azur Lane, the mobile gacha game released the following mission statement regarding the collaboration with WWF.
“Azur Lane and WWF are embarking on an aspiring journey to raise awareness and funds for nature conservation. For the past half century, WWF has been working tirelessly to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and wildlife. Here in Azur Lane, we believe every little effort goes a long away, especially for creating a world where we live together in harmony with nature. With our joint effort, Azur Lane will be introducing a new in-game 13-day event starting on 12 March. The Cutest Companions, which features two new skins for Ping Hai and Ning Hai which are infused with panda elements and a distinct message to invite everyone to join our cause. Furthermore, Yostar on behalf of both EN and JP servers will be donating USD 100,000 that will go towards WWF’s conservation efforts globally.”
