Craftopia developers Pocketpair have announced an all new monster collecting game, Palworld. The game releases in 2022, though more information has been presented via the game’s Steam page.
Just like Pokemon, Palworld has a bright world brimming with colorful creatures called Pals. You can explore and find plenty of these creatures, all with their own elemental affinities, off in the wild.
However, here’s pretty much where the Pokemon comparisons stop. The game is also combined with open world sandbox gameplay, having things like building houses, fishing and farming.
And did we mention the guns? Yeah, that’s a thing. You’ll also have access to automatic firearms, with Pocketpair explicitly saying the time will come where you’ll need to eventually eat your Pals.
Of course, Pals have more uses than emergency food, as they can also be used as meat shields, as well as cheap labor to build your houses or even more weaponry.
There’s also a breeding system, letting you mix Pals to create offspring that inherit the best traits of its parents. On top of that there’s also poaching, something the game encourages as long as you’re not caught.
Of course, similar to Craftopia, the game also includes multiplayer. You’ll be able to travel with your friends, waging gunfire on various unnamed NPCs, only stopping your campaign of terror to trade Pals with each other.
