Rejoice Overwatch tanker players! The newest hero is revealed just yesterday and it is the Wrecking Ball, a mech piloted by the chubby hamster named Hammond. Just like its name, Wrecking Ball is a formidable tank hero that could confidently roll into the enemy team to bully the enemy’s backline, then swing away to escape from the fray easily.
Piloting the earlier version of Wrecking Ball, Hammond – the hamster who gained his intelligence from one of the many experiments carried out at Horizon Lunar Colony made his escape to the earth and lands on the wasteland of the Australian Outback.
Hammond then modified the mech to enter the lucrative mech battle arena of the Scrapyard and fought his way up to the champion rank. Gathering his winnings, Hammond upgraded his mech to survive the dangerous trek out of the Junker-controlled Outback, now he is free to travel and explore for new adventures as he pleases!
Wrecking Ball‘s primary weapon, Quad Cannons are two sets of twin machine guns that shred enemies caught in their crosshairs. Using his Roll ability, he transforms into a ball with increased movement speed so he could dive into the enemies’ backline, while his Adaptive Shield makes him incredibly difficult to kill.
His Grappling Claw allows him to swing across the map to smash his targets, deal destructive damage and knock enemies back. While airborne, the mech’s Piledriver ability slams him down from the air and knock his enemies off their feet. He can use Minefield to fling mines onto the ground for a massive damage to enemies that trigger them too.
