Overwatch League playoffs start today, with the bottom-seeded teams fighting for a spot in the double-elimination bracket. The playoffs will feature two weeks of online matches split into two regional brackets – with 13 teams playing in North America and 7 in Asia.
After two weeks of the second round of playoffs, the final four teams will go head-to-head in the 2020 Grand Finals on October 8th to 10th.
Fans can take part in the action too, as Blizzard announces new methods for fan interactions.
One of these methods is the Crunch Time Cam:
Fans who tweet using a #crunchtimecam hashtag +an abbreviated team name will instantly be sent a live photo of theselected team and their competition space. For example, tweeting#crunchtimecamATL will get you a live shot of the Atlanta Reigncompeting. Here are all the team abbreviations to add to#crunchtimecam:ATL, BOS, CHD, DAL, FLA, GZ, HAN, HOU, LON, LAG,LAV, NY, PAR, PHI, SF, SEO, SHD, TOR, VAN, and WAS.The Fan Tweet Cam is limited to four total matches: the three NAmatches on September 12-13 and the championship match.
Plenty Of Action For Fans, Too
Additionally, watching the games via the Overwatch League website will give fans access to a special overlay. Fans can use this to cheer for their favorite teams, engage in polls and view live stats regarding the game.
Blizzard will also be having a Bracket Contest, for all the budding eSports pundits. Fans can guess the results of the playoffs for a shot at USD 100,000.
Fans can also download wallpapers, icons and banners of their favorite teams completely free. These are also available via the Overwatch League website.
Finally, tuning in to the postseason on YouTube will also earn loyal fans League Tokens.
