Those who have been paying attention to Overwatch or are playing it should know about the Overwatch League that has been started last week at the Blizzard Arena Los Angeles. The past 4 days of intense competition between 12 teams of the world’s first major global city-based professional esports league have gathered more than 10 million viewers!

An impressive average audience per minute of 408,000 was watching the battles via Twitch (the Overwatch League’s exclusive worldwide third-party digital broadcast partner) on the opening day, while an average figure of 280,000 was recorded for the week. On overall, the event draws more than 10 million viewers over the 4 days period via Twitch, MLG, and Chinese streaming partners ZhanQi TV, NetEase CC, and Panda TV. Not to mention the viewers from the watch parties worldwide which is not been counted yet.
The Day 1 matchup between Dallas Fuel and Seoul Dynasty recorded the most viewership for now – 437,000 just on Twitch and MLG alone. Tickets were all sold out for the entire opening week too. Everyone was so excited to support their favourite team!
