Overwatch being the very successful and popular games on PC has inspired many developers like Paladins. However a game developer in China took it literally and made an exact copy (pretty much) for the mobile platform. The developer, 4399 Network Co. Ltd. will be taken to court over IP infringement of the Overwatch IP by none other than Blizzard and NetEase.
The game namely Heroes of Warfare (英雄枪战) is available on Google Play now, however there was no action taken on it (yet) and was allowed to be in Play Store. The game was also made available on the App Store, which by passed all of their strict terms and conditions. Blizzard and NetEase filed a lawsuit against 4399 in Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Court, targeted at 2 of 4399 games namely 英雄枪战 and 枪战前线. 4399 was demanded to cease the operations of both the games mentioned in China and offer compensation due to IP infringement.
