Overwatch 2 Halloween Terror event makes it return but people do not like its jacked-up prices for both new and old skins as well as no free skins for participating in the event.
To give a rundown on what is going on, this year’s Halloween Terror adds the continuation to its Halloween custom game mode named “Junkenstein’s Revenge: Wrath of the Bride” and returning skins such as:
- Van Helsing for Cassidy
- Mummy for Anna
The event also added new legendary skins such as:
- Witch Kiriko for Kiriko
- Executioner for Junker Queen
The custom game mode in itself is not the problem however, the rewards are. Last year, you could get a free Halloween skin for Genji, Zarya and Roadhog. For this year, the most you could get are custom voice lines.
previous overwatch 2 halloween events you could unlock a LOT of new skins… now… you can't even unlock the previously free skins… just… voice lines… https://t.co/z1Y7CJ2hBI

Overwatch 2 listed down the prices while offering discounts for the halloween skins but here’s the catch, those discounts are for bundles. And here is another catch, you cannot purchase those skins individually. Meaning you have to purchase the bundle if you want the skin.
Junker Queen and Sombra’s skins are the only two excluded from this treatment while the rest, including the older skins from Overwatch are priced at the minimum of USD 20.
Twitter user mL7support tweeted out how a single Overwatch 2 skin shouldn’t cost more than a battle pass that gives you that 5 skins and chubchilla1 commented how the true terror of the even is the $26 for a legendary skin.
Bastion, Symmetra, Sigma and Winston got the short end of the stick as their Halloween skins are bundled together costing around USD 40.
When Overwatch 2 tweeted out to announce the launch for the event, many across twitter has voiced out their views in regards to no new free skins and the pricing of their skins and a majority of them are quite unhappy with it.
What do you think about this new approach Overwatch 2 is taking going forward with the game?
