Overlord: Escape from Nazarick, the upcoming Switch and PC Metroidvania title just revealed its release date and new gameplay footage.
The game will release in summer later this year at an unspecified release date. This was announced during the Overlord live broadcast which aired on YouTube over the weekend. You can watch it below:
Considering that the 4th season of the Overlord anime will be releasing in July 2022, it is extremely likely that the game will also be available near the anime’s release date.
In addition to the announcement, the Overlord: Escape from Nazarick newly launched Twitter account also revealed new gameplay footage. It featured player character Clementine going up against the Overseer of the Floor Guardians of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, Albedo.

Note that the above footage is only a work in progress. As such, there might be changes to the actual boss battle in the final game. Besides Albedo, other characters from the anime that players can encounter include Narberal Gamma and Hamsuke.
