Otomate Collection subscription service launches in Japan

Fans of otome games in Japan can sign up for the Otomate Collection paid monthly subscription service to enjoy the titles under the brand on either their mobile phone or through their PC browsers.

For 858 yen a month, the Otomate Collection includes not just the various visual novel games, but also the multimedia works namely the anime, theatrical releases, musicals and stage plays where available. At launch, the games offered include a selection of the Hakuoki series, Hiiro no Kakera / Scarlet Fragments and AMNESIA, with two Nil Admirari titles scheduled for a July 2022 release. The subscription service will be updated sequentially with new works. There are also plans to accept reservations for upcoming events in the future.

Many, if not all, of the Otomate games have been exclusive to consoles, with the subscription service offering the option to enjoy these games on PC or mobile. As you might expect, the service is currently only Japan exclusive, so international otome fans will be out of luck unless localization and distribution licenses can get worked out accordingly.

The titles available through the service are ports, and should see changes depending on the medium. On PC, they require JavaScript as they are played through your browser. You can check out the service’s official website here.
