Popular anime series Oshi no Ko has unveiled a new visual and teaser trailer for season 3 during a special stage presentation at AnimeJapan 2025. The highly anticipated continuation is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2026, as confirmed by animation studio Doga Kobo in February this year. The newly released visual prominently features Aqua Hoshino, one of the series’ two main protagonists. Meanwhile, the teaser trailer maintains an atmospheric approach, featuring rainfall sounds overlaid with Aqua’s voice narration, though it contains limited new footage.

This announcement follows the pattern of early renewals for the series, with Season 3 having been greenlit even before the second season concluded its broadcast run. While some fans might find the 2026 release window distant, industry observers note that the extended production timeline likely reflects Doga Kobo’s commitment to maintaining the exceptional quality that has defined the series thus far.
The third season is expected to continue following the journeys of siblings Aqua and Ruby Hoshino as they navigate their complex and trauma-influenced lives. The new installment will also reportedly expand the roles of the series’ supporting characters, which creator Aka Akasaka has been praised for developing.
Oshi no Ko rose to prominence following its first season debut, earning high ratings for its storytelling and character development. The second season maintained this positive reception, cementing the show’s popularity among anime fans.
Notably, the original Oshi no Ko manga concluded in 2024 amid some controversy, with many readers expressing mixed feelings about its ending despite a later novel expansion. Akasaka has since moved on to a new project called Märchen Clown, a romance manga currently serialized in Weekly Young Jump that follows the fate-guided story of a prince and princess.
